2020 Venice Biennale
2020 Venice Biennale: new dates for the Venice Biennale dedicated to architecture.
The 17th International Architecture Exhibition will be held from 29 August to 29 November 2020 instead of the usual May to November. The event will be held at the historic headquarters of Padiglione Italia, the Giardini, and the Arsenale, as well as the evocative Forte Marghera in Mestre, hosting projects by 114 architects from 46 countries, all competing within the theme “How will we live together?”, the title of the 2020 Venice Biennale.
The question “How will we live together?” was proposed by Hashim Sarki, Lebanese architect and curator of the Architecture Biennale’s 17th edition, with the aim of stimulating reflection and the search for new spatial solutions in a world that is increasingly defined by economic inequalities and political divergences.
Furthermore, university researchers from all over the world will gather to explore collateral topics that go beyond the competition in the new sections “Station” and “Cohabitats”, commissioned by Hashim Sarki and seen for the first time ever at the Architecture Biennale. Meanwhile, in Forte Marghera, 5 architects and an architectural photographer will compete within the theme “How will we play together?”
With this, Venice prepares for late summer with its usual sparkling cultural atmosphere, and Bloom B&B is the perfect home base from which to fully experience it. In fact, we are right in the historic city center of Venice, just a two-minute walk from the vaporetto that will take you straight to the Giardini and Arsenale headquarters. This same line can also take you to Piazzale Roma, where you can catch a bus that goes directly to the exhibition spaces of Forte Marghera for the 2020 Venice Biennale.
